I thought finding things to do for kids near me would be difficult when we moved back to Ohio. I could’ve sworn I knew about all the cool spots, but I’ll admit I was wrong. Since I’m a mom who loves the outdoors and traveling is my heart, I have decided to share a blog series documenting all the awesome things to do for kids near me, starting with The Holden Arboretum.
🚘 Travel Warning: “Near me” won’t always be in Ohio because I love a good road trip, no matter how far or long.

Okay, I’ll be really honest and share that I didn’t know this place existed. But once I found out, it was over! I was doing the Baywatch slow run through the gardens the last time went with the family. Let’s just say, no one had to pull my arm to become a member. Okay, enough with my yapping!
Here are my five favorite things to do for kids after exploring Holden Arboretum.
1
The Blueberry Pond Trail – This trail is so beautiful. The cutest little frog was staring out from the water. I thought Mr. Foggy would come out and hop around, but I think he was just enjoying the vitamin D from sunbathing.
2
The Forest Form – These are super cute for a family picture or mimic moments to see who has the best animal acting skills in your family.
3
Emergent Tower – A bee party was happening when we went to the top, but I love that the tower has little educational facts and benches for people to take a break. I will tell you to hold your kiddos hands tightly because the steps can get a little narrow.
4
The Murch Canopy Walk – After we conquered the tower, we made our way to the murch canopy walk. It was fun to walk between the trees and listen to the birds chatter about their day.
5
Bathrooms available after 5pm – If you’re a member, you can explore “before sunset,” and if you have little ones who need to potty, Holden has you covered! The bathrooms are available during that time, so whoohooo!!
I know you may be wondering how is Danielle going to show us Things to do for kids without adding photos for each step. I’ll be honest and say that I was having too much fun to whip my phone out every five seconds, but the next time we visit, I’ll be sure to have my camera ready.

Alrighty folks, that’s it for this week’s blog sharing things to do for kids. If you like this series, let me know if there’s a new place I should visit.
I realized that I spend a lot of time looking for things to do for kids, so I might as well share some of the fun things I’ve actually done, even if someone else has already talked about them. Most of the time, people talk about new places on social media, but I rarely see it in the blog post format.

Until next time, whatever you do, live with zeal! -Dani✨
