Directions
STEP 1: Download and Upload the SVG Shamrock Puppet file to Silhouette Studio.
Click File, Open, and the SOZ_Shamrock Felt Puppets. You will have a white background, so delete it and leave the shamrocks on the mat.
Open the trace bar and make sure your settings are like this. Threshold: 50, High pass (On): 6.75 and Scale:10.
I found that selecting the Trace Outer Edge button really worked well for highlighting all of the shamrocks.
Alright, now that the trace is complete, you can move to cutting the shamrocks out!
STEP 2. Set the Silhouette material settings to cardstock and cut out the SVG file as a template. You can also use Silhouette’s Deep-Cut blade and skip the tracing step, but since I only own the standard blade I had to cut the Shamrocks out as templates.
STEP 3: Trace the template on your felt with some tailor’s chalk. I also like to use a pattern weight to keep the template from moving.
You can also trace the smaller shamrocks with the Tombow MONO Drawing pen. Just make sure to flip the shamrock over to hide the ink.
Next, cut each shamrock out with scissors.
Yay! look at our Shamrock friends!
STEP 4: Take your Tombow Mono Drawing Pen in #08 and draw the eyes and mouth.
Draw the eyes with two circles and the mouth smiling close to the eyes.
If you want your shamrocks to be cute, add some blush by using the Tombow ABT PRO Marker in #P847 under the eyes.
STEP 5: Once your shamrock faces are complete, grab some Elmer’s glue to adhere the arms and the popsicle sticks.
Place some pattern weights on top of the popsicle sticks to help seal them to the felt.
STEP 6: It’s Play Time! Take your shamrock puppets and create a stage with any table in your home to start the play!
I hope that you enjoyed this blog and your child has a blast with their new shamrock pals. Before you go, check out some of my blog friends that also created ✨ Free ✨ SVG files for this month.
