Howdy folks, let’s talk about some scrapbooking design ideas today. While going through my Dropbox, I found a blog I never released using American Crafts Thickers. You may be wondering, like, ummm, what are thickers? Well, it’s just thick stickers.🤣
These are fun to use for bible journaling, artistic journaling, or felt books could work as well. Today’s blog will show you how I use Thickers for a scrapbook layout design, all while embellishing the page with Tombow Brush Pens.

Here’s what I used for this Thickers layout:

🎨Creative Tip: Use this scrapbooking design for anything.
The goal is to make a simple scrapbook design that can be used for a journal layout, picture album, or one-time summer project to keep the kiddos from running to the iPad.
Don’t limit yourself just because you see me using a piece of paper. You can even use this idea on a shadowbox, but make sure you use a permanent glue.
Step 1. Grab some thickers and Glue
Choose whatever funky thickers work for your scrapbook layout, then add a little extra glue to the back. We don’t want these thickers to move one bit!

Step 2. Fill up your page or only the border
You don’t have to fill up the space on your paper, you can totally just make a thickers border. I had fun choosing funky sayings and sticking them to the paper. Let your imagination run with this!

Step 3. Get those tombow brush pens ready!
It’s time to make some quick marks on the page with Tombow Brush Pens. You can use the bullet pen side for more detailed work, or stick with the brush pen side like me.

Here’s the Tombow set that I pulled from for this project.

I used three colors and moved from one side to another to make the scrapbook design look interesting.

Step 4. find more scrapbooking projects to add thickers!
Look through your creative stash and find other scrapbook projects you can drop some thickers on for that extra pop!
