Feeling like Galentine’s Day is coming up too fast, and you need more time to set up your party? Don’t worry, my friend, because I have an easy punch needle hat project that will make your girl’s night celebration super bomb! If you haven’t heard about punch needle embroidery, I want to encourage you to do a quick google search on the craft. It’s pretty versatile.
Alright, I know you’re waiting to get started, soooo let’s gather our supplies!
Here’s what you’ll need to create this Galentine’s bucket hat:
- Embroidery Floss (Red or Pink)
- Denim or Thick Cotton Bucket Hat
- Strong Fabric Adhesive
- Clover Embroidery Stitching Tool
- Clover Embroidery Hoop
- Clover Water Erasable Marker
- Scissors
Directions
Step 1. Start by turning the bucket hat inside out and folding it in half to find the center.
Step 2. Create a dot in the center of the hat.
Step 3. Sketch a 2-inch heart using the dot as a guide.
Step 4. Thread the embroidery floss into punch needle.
Step 5. Attach the hat to the embroidery hoop, then follow the outline of the heart with your punch needle tool.
⚠️Quick tip: Keep the embroidery stitching tool close to the fabric, so you don’t lose any loops on the right side of the hat.
Step 6. Continue stitching around the heart until it’s complete. You may have to fill in some areas, but it’s standard to work over the first stitches to close up any gaps.
Step 7. Once the heart has been stitched, trim the extra embroidery threads, then apply fabric adhesive to act as a sealant.
Tada! You have your own Galentine’s Day Punch Needle Hat! Don’t you just love it?
