I don’t always write about hair products on the blog, but Amika Frizz Me Not blew me away! This product totally changed the game for me when it comes to flat ironing my hair at home. In the spirit of DIY, I could not wait to share this blog with you all.
Whether you love wearing your hair curly or straight, doesn’t it seem like frizz is always lurking around the corner? I know it’s always waiting to hijack my happy-go-lucky silk press. But I digress.
Today, I am here to drop a quick tutorial for Amika Frizz Me Not Hydrating Anti-Frizz Spray. If you like video content, then you’re in luck! ⬇️ Below is the YouTube with a full flat iron tutorial and lots of “proof that it works” videos.
Please not that your silk press will look different depending on the thickness of your hair and what products you use. In this video, I’m in a rush to remove the chlorine from swimming, but I generally do the same process on non-swimming days. I will add the time stamps if you want to jump to specific points in the video.
✨Here’s the products I used:✨
Step 1. Pre-POO is the way to go!
I love a good pre-poo. It’s a product that prepares your hair for the wash. In my case, I’m transitioning back to my naturally curly hair after spending an hour in a swimming pool, so I need extra care before shocking my hair with water.

Step 2. Cleanse your hair.
I washed my hair with some suave shampoo and conditioner. It isn’t the most popular on the market, but it works well for cleansing my hair.

Step 3. Spray Amika Frizz me Not
Now, this is my second time using this spray, and I will say that the previous time I used a lot of it. I chilled out this time, but my goal was to stay frizz-free, and it worked. Look at all the footage in the video and below, lol. You don’t have to spray your hair generously like me, but I really wanted to see if it would keep my frizz ends away. Next time, I will add three sprays instead of six to see if I can achieve the same fantastic results with less product. This particular product isn’t on Amazon yet, but I did share another link for you to find it.
‼️ Important: Don’t forget to comb the product thoroughly through your hair.

Step 4. Blowdrying Is all about the angles baby.
My secret to getting a smooth blow-dry is due to the Mane Round Brush. I shopped on Insta Cart; I know, don’t judge me. Anyway, I found it on the Sephora’s Instacart page and decided to try it. Omgoodness, the mane round brush has completely changed my silk press/flat iron experience for the better. As you can see in the video, I discuss how to position the blowdryer so you can get the smoothest roots possible. If your arms need a workout, this technique will give you some temporary muscles.💪
I will warn you that using a round brush is not for the faint of heart, but I noticed that you must detangle your hair properly. Naturally, when you brush your hair, there will be some shedding, but if you want to reduce it, please detangle from end to root or root to end, whatever works for your hair.

Step 5. Kim Kimble flat Irons are bomb!
I cannot believe these flat irons are less than $50 —$34.75, to be exact! My Chi flat irons don’t even work as well as Kim Kimble’s. But seriously, parting my hair in small sections and doing one pass with her flat irons will be my go-to. I might just buy another one just in case Walmart ever stops selling them. That’s how impressed I am.

I know everyone wants to see some proof, so here you go!
TENNIS DAY
I actually have an update at the end of the video that shows how I look after playing tennis, so here’s the time stamp for that with some pictures from last week.

BEACH DAY

Roller Coasters + Motown Museum

Hottest Day yet!
As you can see, I have tested this product out a lot. The craziest day thus far was 90 F with 74% Humidity. I thought for sure my hair was going to frizz, mainly because I had a lot to do and tennis lessons, but nope! The curls dropped, but the frizz didn’t come knocking at my door.

So yeah, that’s my review for the Amika Frizz Me Not Anti-Frizz Product. I highly suggest you try it out if you want to keep frizz at bay during the summer.
If you already tried it, I’d love to hear if it worked for you in the comments below 👇🏾
Alright! That’s it for today. Keep cool my people and I’ll see y’all soon!
And remember, whatever you do, do it with zeal!
