Have you ever seen an antique teacup during a museum walkthrough? Let’s just say I can see why they are priceless. I can still remember being in awe at the tea sets that dated back to the Joseon dynasty during my visit to the National Museum of Korea back in 2011. Oh, how I miss Korea!
Anyways, if you love tea or have an obsession with anything antique, you will enjoy creating this teacup with me. Ok, let’s talk about supplies!
Supplies:
Strathmore Mixed Media Paper
(Optional) Tombow Dual Brush Pen
Step 1. Draw an oval with your mono drawing pen 05 to represent the inside of the cup. I added some arrows to help you follow along with me.
Step 2. Darken the rim of the circle and then draw a U-shape bottom. This will show the shape of the cup.
Step 3. Add the tea line.
Step 4. Draw the base of the teacup. It kind of looks like a flared out rectangle.
Step 5. Now, it’s time to design your antique teacup. Feel free to follow my key below or you can make up your own design.
Step 6. (Optional) Add Color. I like how the teacup looks without color, but you can totally spice things up by using Tombow’s dual brush pens and that’s it!
